Button chat

Chat is a favourite street side food for many of us .There are lots of varieties in chats . Each has its equal fan following..:)) Many chats have the base like papads , samosa , puris ,kachoris and have the toppings like sweet , green chutney and many more..

I feel little bored making the chutneys each time when i want to eat chat.So i tried in a simple way of making my chat to make it quick .Here i used a diffrent base to make chat which i named them as Buttons as they look like buttons. :) Here are few butons..


Using these buttons i have prepared the chat . So colorful right.? Come lets see how to make this..



Ingredients:

For buttons:

  • All purpose flour (maida) : 1 cup
  • Ghee (clarified butter) hot : 1/2 tblspn
  • salt : 1/2 tspn
  • water : as required
  • Cooking soda : a pinch
  • Oil : for deep fry
For chat:
  • Green peas : 1/4 cup ( cooked )
  • Onions : 1 (chopped)
  • Tomatoes : 1 (chopped)
  • Sev : 1/8 cup
  • Salt : as per taste
  • Chilli powder : as per taste
  • Chat masala : 1/4 tspn
  • Curd : 1 tblspn (beaten)
  • Lemon juice : 1 tspn
Procedure:
Making buttons:
  1. Add cooking soda , salt , ghee to the flour and mix it well properly.
  2. Make a hole in the middle  ,add sufficient water ,mix well to form a soft dough (as chapati dough).
  3. Keep it aside for 10 mins.
  4. Now make a big chapati with the dough and cut into squares using a knife.
  5. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed vessel , fry them on a medium flame until they turn golden brown color.
Making chat:
  1. Take these buttons in a plate . Add Green peas as a topping .
  2. Add chopped onions ,tomatoes one after another.
  3. Sprinkle sufficient salt ,chilli powder ,chat masala on the mixture.
  4. Add curd, lemon juice and sev while serving.
