Poha(Atukula Upma)






Ingrediants:

  • Poha/Atukulu(rice flakes) : 3 cups
  • Mustard : 1/2 tbspn
  • Cumin :1/2 tbspn
  • Curry Leaves : 6
  • Peanuts : 1/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves : few
  • Urad dal : 1 tspn
  • Turmeric : a pinch
  • Chana dal : 1 tspn
  • Onions : 1 big (cut length wise)
  • Salt : as per taste
  • Sugar : one pinch
  • Oil : 2 spoons
  • Green chillies : 2(split length wise)
  • Lemon juice : 1tspn
Preparation :

  1. Wash rice flakes in water ,drain all the water from it  and sprinkle few drops of water on it and keep it aside.
  2. Now heat oil in a pan add all the spices ,peanuts ,onions,green chillies,turmeric,little salt and let them fry for few minutes until the color changed to golden brown.
  3. Now add curry leaves , riceflakes, a pinch of sugar to it and mix well.
  4. Adjust salt and add lemon juice after removing it from the stove and mix well.
  5. Garnish with Coriander leaves and roasted gram powder.
 Tip:

Rice flakes should be little dry to handle.so use only few drops of water to soak them .
